In pre-war Poland, scientific research was often conducted in bottom-up structures, financed by generosity of benefactors, philantropist and patrons.
This form of organization gave independence from domain limitations and allowed both polish scientists and inventors to achieve practical results. This approach gave rise to fast scientific an economic growth of the Second Polish Repbulic. After WWII such a modus operandi has been prohibited by the regime, which also nationalized the mienie of pre-war NGOs, while in the free world it continued to flourish.
Probably the most famous initiative of this type is the Stanford University. This non-profit foundation Inicjatywą tego typu jest np. Uniwersytet Stanforda. New scientific instutes formed as bottom-up NGOs are also being founded nowadays, to recall
Today many in Poland are looking at western countries with envy and desire to import succesful methods of research organisation to Poland. We are trying to revive this most successful approach, the groundwork of polish pre-war success, in modern Poland.

Understanding the Analog-Digital Frontier
How do Internet, gaming, new technologies and devices impact our minds and behaviour?

Recovering and analysing the structure of historical networks
How did a well-connected structure of polish elites network in the Second Polish Republic impacted the dynamic growth of the countries economy? How was this social structure broken during the WWII?
